Description
11 different botanicals are used for this entry-level gin (kuromoji, lemon zest, juniper berry, coriander, licorice root, angelica root, ginger, cinnamon, Sichuan pepper, cardamom and caraway). It is a beautiful gin, clearly more on spicy notes but at the same time with a nice freshness.
Producteur
Yomeishu Seizo
Yomeishu is one of the oldest producers of medicinal liqueurs in Japan. A liqueur based on 'Kuromoji', a local aromatic plant with anti-inflammatory powers, was first brewed here over
400 years ago. The medicinal liqueur has been continuously produced here since then, so it's time for something new! The house's expertise is logically in botanics so it's not surprising that the new adventure would lead in the direction of gin. In contrast to the classic juniper-based gin, here, how could it be otherwise, the Kuromoji is used as the base. Local botanicals are used as much as possible, and with over 200 herbs and plants at their disposal, the possibilities are virtually endless.
