Description
Santa Maria Gold has been matured for two years in American oak barrels that were previously used for Japanese whiskey. A pleasant, accessible fruitiness, nicely complemented by a smoky touch towards the end.

Iejima
Iejima is one of the smallest islands on the Rykyu archipelago and until recently, carried little interest for tourists or lovers of spirits. Luckily for us, this changed in 2011. Since the early 2000s, Asahi, the world renowned beer brewing company had set up a plant for the production of bio fuel using sugar cane, which was abundantyl available on the island. The project was however abandoned in 2008, and only a couple of years later, an Awamori producer came to the realization that the island possessed everything for the production of quality rum! Sugar cane juice (no molasse) as well an approach of minimal intervention during the distillation are at the basis of these wonderful spirits.
